REPORTS

ACTIONS?

CHAIRPERSON:

Thanks to all the committee members for all their efforts since the last AGM and for attending the meetings.

SECRETARY:

Nothing to report.

TREASURER:

Accounts attached. Will end year with surplus of over £400. There is a surplus on junior events and propose to roll over to a junior development pot, which could be used to offset junior inter-area entry costs (at Junior Development Officer’s discretion).

FIXTURES:

Nothing to report.

RESULTS:

Thanks to referees for timely submission of results – very little chasing up required. And thanks to clubs with NL / SERL teams for submitting team lists for status calculations.

SENIOR DEVELOPMENT:

No report.

JUNIOR DEVELOPMENT:

In general junior activity in the area is down and has been struggling to recover since covid. Having said this, there is a fantastic collaborative effort by the various coaches to provide games for the children.

Last year was quiet in terms of CKA activity. Academy ran as usual and area squads competed, but the quantity and quality has been much affected.

This year we are hosting the U14 National League - with hopefully 2 x combined CKA teams (only 6 teams in total are entering). We will need some referees for this event.

Academy sessions are all booked - first one was last week. Payment will be the same - we will bill clubs and provide them with a register. Hannah has a float of cash that she is going to pay in to CKA bank account.

We have 3 x U11 tournaments booked where we hope to entice other clubs from other areas to come along.

Very grateful to all those who continue to believe in youth korfball and give up their time to develop young players.

REFEREEING:

No report.

COACHING (Vacant):

No report.

PUBLICITY:

Last year as an area we were finding our feet, but intention this year is to be more pro-active; will work this out with relevant contacts at clubs.

WELFARE OFFICER

Nothing to report. It was noted that the title of this role was renamed from Child Protection Officer to Welfare Officer at the 2021 AGM – Howard to check whether any amendments to the constitution are required to accommodate this.

Clubs to look for volunteers for vacant roles, most notably Results Officer without which the leagues may not be able to function. The Results Officer role takes about 1-2 hours per week, with peaks around the end of the status period. Mark (outgoing Results Officer) explained more about the role and there was a high-level discussion of alternative processes.

2. ELECTION OF AN HONORARY AUDITOR

Clubs to contact Howard with any suggestions for an auditor of the account.

From next season, Philip to transfer the accounts online so they are more accessible to a potential auditor.

3. REVIEW OF AREA DEVELOPMENT PLAN

CKA Documents -> Development Plan -> Area Development Plan

No desire to change this.

4. BUDGET AND LEAGUE ENTRY FEES

The £400 surplus from last year was due to very little expenditure in relation to league entry fees.

The proposed budget, and associated league entry fees, was approved subject to a technical correction in the spreadsheet (New Junior Development Funds) spotted by Howard.
