ACTIONS FROM PREVIOUS MEETINGS: |
Sara/Howard to organise first aid course – still to do.
Sam
to send email to clubs to clarify what clubs need to do with
regard to Sam/Howard
to find solution to BKA signatory on CRB checks - BKA AGM will be
at Littleport on June 17th. Asked BKA is CPO will be present as
this would be a good opportunity to get CRB check forms signed. Lee
to contact Phil Buttinger about running level 2 part 2 coaching
course. No support from EKA to run this. Reda to produce proposal for area juniors setup - still to do.
Howard sent email about 'Korfball Kidz' risk assessment.
Antony
to find risk assessment for Korfball as a sport – done. Sara, Nicola and Antony to look into CKA end of season presentation evening – University Arms £30 a head, 50 people, Cambridge City Football Club £8 a head. Latter seems best option. Hold before next season.
Antony to email Birmingham about mini-tournament – done, did not go ahead.

CHAIRMAN: ACTIONS? |
Email send to NKA about EA League and EA Cup. NKA are unresponsive so hard to see how this is going to progress. Looks like it's not going to happen due to lack of interest from the NKA.
BKA AGM on Sunday 17th June 11 am - 3 pm at Littleport. |

SECRETARY: |

TREASURER: |
Accounts attached. Referee non-attendance fine for Phoenix has been invoiced. |
FIXTURES: |
Season completed with the promotion play-off match (Uni 1 beat Lions II in a close game).
RESULTS: |
No report. |
JUNIOR DEVELOPMENT: |
NYD need volunteers : BBQ 2 people from each club for 2 hour slot. Referees, need not be qualified. Korfball Kidz event held in April. Poor attendance, but successful. Schools league now a mini-tournament due to problems with transporting children. |
REFEREEING: |
Adam
now passed practical assessment. Referees
fully qualified and those who've only passed theory will be
required for National Youth Day. Response so far, aside from those
likely to be involved with junior teams, has been pathetic, just
one affirmative. Any referees who would like to become fully BKA qualified to advise me so I can try to sort out a BKA assessor for one of the Cambs tournaments. Only 1 response so far. |
COACHING: |

1. RISK ASSESSMENTS FOR TOURNAMENTS |
Risk assessments need to be done when holding summer tournaments. |
2. INTER AREA AND COUNTIES TEAMS |
CKA didn't enter the senior or junior inter-area competitions this year. At the moment organisation is ad-hoc with no clear responsibilities.
Senior and junior development officers will be responsible for finding volunteers to manage senior inter-area and counties and junior inter-area teams respectively each year.
Invitations to be team managers should be open. Confirmation or choice or manager will be a CKA committee decision. Team managers are then responsible for making sure a team is selected and entered.
Invitations to play or attend trials should be open.
Short term aim is to make sure we always enter teams. Longer term aim to improve standard of teams by encouraging competition for places.
Constitution will be amended accordingly at the AGM. |
3. INCORPORATING TIME OUTS INTO THE LEAGUE FOR NEXT SEASON |
Suggest 1 timeout per team. Shorten half time from 5 to 3 minutes. Proposal with specific text to be submitted to AGM. |
Andy |
4. BORROWING PLAYERS FROM OTHER CLUBS |
Reda asks everyone to approach clubs frist when seeking to borrow players rather than players directly. |
5. TIGERS COMPANIES TOURNAMENT |
Tigers
had a very successful event with 4 Cambridge companies :GE Energy,
Mott McDonald, CAT, and Q103...They set up the event with
sponsorship from LA Fitness in order to raise money for charity
(we ended raising £220). The companies really enjoyed it and
the winning team were presented with a trophy. |
Sara |
6 APPROACHING JUNIORS |
No one should be approaching junior players to persuade them to move to their club from another club. |
AOB: |
Need to specify rules for setting out and throw off in league rules as Korfball rules have changed.
Sara would like to go to Avon Tyrrel. CKA will give £100 towards this. |
Adam |
NEXT MEETING: |
