CHAIRMAN:

There was an email vote to clarify the regional league decision made at the previous meeting. I received 6 for, 0 abstentions and 0 against votes, so ' The CKA will form the South East England Regional League (SEERL) for 2009/10 onwards with the Kent Korfball Association (KKA), the London Korfball Association (LKA) and the Norfolk Korfball Association (NKA)'. This is of course our preference and subject to agreement with other area associations.

The league sub-committee decided that Barbara Bakker, who has moved to the area from the Netherlands, could play in the CKL for Tigers as no transfer had taken place. Sara, a neutral committee member, was invited to participate in the decision as Nick was conflicted.

The KKA wish to form a regional league comprising the CKA, KKA, LKA and NKA.

The LKA had a vote and a meeting and their preference is to form a regional league comprising the KKA and LKA.

MK Bucks, MK City, MK Roos, Luton Hatters (incorporating Beds Uni), new start up club Walton Rogues, plus the MK schools and MKX junior programmes have formed the South Midlands Korfball Association (SMKA) to cover Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and Northamptonshire.

I asked the NKA their plans. The NKA wish to form a regional league comprising the CKA, NKA and SMKA.

I asked the WMKA their plans. The WMKA wish to form a regional league comprising the CKA, EMKA, NKA, SMKA and WMKA.

I asked the EMKA their plans. The EMKA will remain in the CEKL.

A meeting between the CKA, KKA, LKA and NKA chairs is planned for 14th March. I'm aiming to find out what options are available with regard to our SEERL preference.

Any decision on the CKA forming a regional will be made by the CKA committee, when we know what options are available.

SECRETARY(Vacant):

TREASURER:

Accounts attached. Nothing to report.

FIXTURES:

Nothing to report.

RESULTS:

The player status on the website is incorrect for some players due to some postponed matches that have not yet been rearranged. This has meant that some players have actually played in teams they were not eligible to play in. There will be an amnesty for such occurrences. The status will be corrected as soon as possible and an email sent out to the CKA committee.

Nick

4. REFEREEING STANDARDS

Ways to improve the standard of refereeing in the CKL were discussed.

The CKA are trying to arrange refereeing courses, but were are lacking support from the EKA.

Clubs could do more to support their referees and develop them.

Any comments with regard to refereeing standards should be first directed to the CKA refereeing officer.

Any referee that would like some assistance should contact the CKA refereeing officer.

It was suggested that a meeting of all referees would be useful. Andy R to organise.

The CKA are hosting National Youth Day this year. This is an opportunity for referees to be assessed by the EKA or to get some informal feedback from more experienced referees.
