ACTIONS FROM PREVIOUS MEETINGS:

All clubs to try and find a volunteer secretary, coaching and senior development officers.

City, Tigers, Vikings (clubs with junior sections) to organise junior tournament days in rotation with adhoc teams if necessary – March tournament cancelled due to lack of numbers. Another tournament is planned for this school term.

All clubs to help Lions with recruitment. Recruitment by word of mouth is successful – every member of every club please see if you know of anyone, perhaps who you work with, who lives in the Ely/Littleport area who might be interested in taking up korfball with Lions.

Corinne to average the cost of hall time for the Division 3 3rd fixtures across all teams and invoice clubs – still to do.

Lions to identify specific tasks to help with recruitment.

All clubs to try to help Lions with coaching by looking for guest coaches – some offers made, Lions need to follow up on these. Martin Brown refereed an intra club friendly.

Uni and Phoenix to email Andy to arrange refereeing theory test – still to do.

Andy to assess Simon Ball again – Simon still too busy at present.

CHAIRMAN:

Junior players approved by email to play in the CKL:

Gemma Gow (Vikings)

Nathan Makalena (Vikings)

subject to full and correct completion and signing of the appropriate forms.

5 Spiked bases going to Nomads/Croydon via City and Champions Trophy.

Tom Hodges from Uni had meeting with Simon Cornish from University PE department about markings in the new hall. The new hall will be 37 m x 34.5 m and have a similar arrangement to Kelsey Kerridge, 8 badminton courts with a removable central barrier. However, a pitch covering the whole hall would be no bigger than the Perse. He thought it would be hard to sell korfball markings to the Director of Sport, who makes the decision. The concern was over conflicts with markings for other sports. The decision was that there will be korfball markings for 1 court, occupying half the hall i.e. 4 badminton courts. The hall should be available from summer 2013. Thanks to Tom and Uni for their efforts.

SECRETARY(Vacant):

TREASURER:

Accounts attached. Nothing further to report.

FIXTURES:

Update on play-offs - Hills Road doesn't have a 3 hour slot on the 19th/20th May weekend, but the Perse should be available 5-8 pm on Sunday May 20th (awaiting Tigers to confirm). The plan is to have the Division 1/2 play-off second to allow Lions to make it (they've warned me all their girls will be away that weekend, but last I heard they should be back).

RESULTS:

Website up to date except for some Tigers and City SERL matches.

SENIOR DEVELOPMENT (Vacant):

JUNIOR DEVELOPMENT:

(Chris West) There's a juniors tournament in Norwich is two weeks time – short notice.

REFEREEING:

Nothing to report.

COACHING (Vacant):

PUBLICITY:

(Simon McGregor) City had some publicity via Huntingdon Community Radio. They maybe interested in an update in the near future. It was suggested that Johnathon produces a report on the play offs and reviewing the season for release.

CPO:

Nothing to report.

2. CRB CHECKS

Who needs to be CRB checked ? How often ? Do referees need to be checked ?

Informal guidance from EKA says only coaches need to be checked and not referees. Lucy to email the EKA to ask for formal written guidance.

CKL rules will be amended as necessary at the AGM

3. PROPOSED CHANGE TO THE CKL RULES

City would like to discuss the principle of a change of league rules to allow for matches to be postponed in the event of players’ absence on international duty:

- at least 2 players and/or international coaches in 1 team must be affected

- applies to international matches, not training, for all countries

- at least 28 days notice

- CKL 1st teams only

The proposals were agreeable.

City will put forward some wording to go before the AGM
