Angela

TREASURER:

Accounts attached. Nothing to report.

FIXTURES:

Still awaiting confirmation of all changes to matches. Tigers not responding. Please can these be organised and sent across to Laura as soon as possible.

RESULTS:

Discussion around a mix-up with some statuses on the website which led to games being played with ‘illegal’ teams with the results of these games being disputed. Discussion has been held by the CKL league sub-committee (Chair, Fixtures and Results officers) and teams have been notified as to the results which have now been up-dated on the CKA website. All players status’s are correct and up-to-date on the CKA website.

It was suggest that the CKL rules be changed at the next AGM, so that clubs are not penalised for playing teams which are legal according to the statuses on the CKA website on the date of the match (the website is now under revision control), but subsequently become illegal due to correction sin player statuses.

SENIOR DEVELOPMENT (Vacant):

(Secretary) There was no-one willing to play in the senior inter-area, therefore Cambridge will not be entering a team.

JUNIOR DEVELOPMENT:

REFEREEING:

Nothing to report.

COACHING (Vacant):

PUBLICITY (Vacant):

CPO:

Nothing to report.

1. LIONS REQUEST FOR ACCESS TO STRUGGLING CLUB FUNDING

At the meeting Lions requested to withdraw this request as the club feels it can manage currently without accessing these funds. They are continuing to work hard on fundraising and gaining more players.

2. REFEREES’ RATINGS OF TEAM STATISTICS

Referees give each team a rating for behaviour, attitude and sportsmanship when submitting scorecards. Statistics were presented showing the average rating of clubs and teams so far this season.

Discussion was held around what ratings teams have been given and why these may have been given. Discussion was held whether referee’s were rating consistently and if they are being completed after each game. It was agreed that ratings are going to be reviewed in line with each status period. Encouragement will be given to all referees to complete these for all games for consistency. It was agreed not to publish the ratings, just to present them to the committee.

3. NUMBER OF REFEREE’S IN CKA

Does the CKA needs more referees ? We've lost some recently, there are more matches on Sundays, at around the same time, we need to cover Uni's commitments next season and there seem to be more juniors events that need referees.

Looking at this season so far, clubs have these numbers of referees:
City 2
Lions 3
Phoenix 5
Tigers 2
Uni 0
Vikings 2

City, Tigers and Vikings look short of referees.

Discussion was held about what each club is currently doing to increase the number of referee’s in CKA. Each club are currently trying to encourage players to qualify as a referee. Andy is going to be providing a theory course for Vikings. Phoenix and City have people interested. Tigers and Lions are going to go back to their respective clubs and find out if there is anyone interested.

Uni have possibly one person interested in becoming a referee but as agreed the rest of the CKA will cover their commitments for the up-coming season.

NEXT MEETING

Last one before AGM – most likely May time.
