1. APPROVAL OF JUNIORS TO PLAY IN THE CKL

The start of the meeting was delayed as Fiona and Kevin were late and there were not sufficient representatives present to be quorate. Thanks to Howard, Tara and Chris for their patience and for being on time. Mark Wassell was present for this item only so the group was quorate.

CKL rules say: ' 4.1.10 All junior (under 18) players must be approved by the CKA i.e. an underage player request form for the player must be completed and approved by the CKA committee, before they can play in the CKA League.'
The approval from has changed since this was written and a CKA representative (Officer) now signs to say : 'The Association confirms that they are following the EKA Child Protection Policy.' Originally they signed to say the CKA approved the junior to play, hence the current process.

The CKA constitution says: 'The Child Protection Officer shall: a) see that the CKA follows the English Korfball Association (EKA) Child Protection Policy and Guidelines'.
The EKA now requires completed forms before juniors play.

Suggest that committee delegates approval and signing of underage player request forms to any officer. Clubs will need to keep the online spreadsheets of players up to date. The change of process was agreed.

2. PLAYER TRANSFERS, RESTRICTIONS ON PLAYING IN THE CKL IN EXCEPTIONAL CIRCUMSTANCES

The item was originally proposed by an attendee of the previous meeting who was not present at this meeting, so the item was not discussed.

3. CKA SURVEY

The results were circulated. There were lots of positive and useful ideas and suggestions. Some were ‘best case scenarios’ that the CKA would aim to achieve will a full committee with more volunteers with more time to offer. Two suggestions that it was agreed to take forward were; to hold a meeting in Ely soon so it is more convenient for Vikings and Lions members; and to publish an ‘about us’ section on the CKA website to publicly explain the role of the committee in case anyone wants to look into it.

NEXT MEETING

Next meeting will be in January.

AOB

It was agreed to co-opt Mark Wassell as the Results Officer.
