1. RECORDING RESULTS

Discussion in the group about the need to develop the current legacy system of recording results and, in turn, calculating player status. Suggestions put forward by Kevin W were:

1) Someone applies a lot of polish to the current system
2) Someone writes a completely new system
3) An off-the-shelf system
4) Playwaze

Acknowledgement that for the calculations of status to be done, results need to be downloadable from the system that holds them to avoid manual handling.

Discussion around changing the status methodology so that it is only based on the starting line-up, rather than considering total match time played per player. Observation that the impact of this can be tested by running “new” rules on old data to see if it makes a significant difference to the outcome.

Action – Philip to speak to Playwaze lead at EK to understand current status and plans for coming season

Philip

Action – Kevin W to see if it’s possible to download match data from Playwaze to use in our status calculations.
