SENIOR DEVELOPMENT (vacant):

No report.

JUNIOR DEVELOPMENT:

Philip thanked Simon for helping at the Cambridgeshire County Council primary school event, the hope is that some schools will come forward to take korfball further. The organiser gave positive feedback on the korfball session. Discussion of what engagement might look like but depends on what the schools want too.

This season have been running U9 & U11 tournaments during City training. U14 NL is happening, CKA players are quite young for the age group to provide strong competition to the stronger opponents.

U17/U19 Academy running fine – about 11-16 players coming each month.

U15 regional Academy – about 20-24 attending (about half from Cambridgeshire, half from Norfolk). Matches coming up in Ely in March. Sessions are well-focused and generating improvement in game play.

Younger age groups being run to avoid conflict with regional U15 Academy, but numbers are small (maximum 6) so is being subsidised this season – treated as a trial.

Action – Philip to share U15 regional academy session plans with City, Tigers.

Philip

Action – Liv to contact the attendees at the primary school event to see if there is interest in taking korfball forward.

2. VIKINGS REFEREEING COMMITMENTS

Received in advance from James Thomson, Chair, Vikings: ‘I'm conscious of the fact that there have been a number of issues relating to games that we were meant to be providing refs for over the last couple of weeks. We have been through the website to confirm what our commitments are for the rest of the season and that we are able to cover them. There are a couple of occasions where we may need to organise an alternative but I will leave it to Gary to coordinate, otherwise I am confident that there will be no further issues. We are also actively encouraging other club members to train as referees in order to make this simpler in future seasons, although there is a little way to go on that.’

NEXT MEETING

Sometime in April / May.
