So
what does this all mean?
National League
Cambridge tried to raise their game for the final two
matches against Castle and Kingfishers and despite leading for long periods in
both matches, could not hang on for the win. Castle ended up winning the
division and promotion to the Premiership next season, Kingfishers ended up in
3rd place and Cambridge finished in a lowly 5th position.
CKA Cup
City 1 and Tigers 1 do battle on Thursday night to see who
can win the CKA Cup. Tigers will be going for an unprecedented treble (the EA
Cup, the CKA League Title and the CKA Cup) and City will obviously be trying to
stop them. In the other match on Thursday night, Phoenix 1 and Kites 1 face
each other for the 3rd/4th place playoff.
CKA Plate
An all Phoenix Plate final between Phoenix 2 and Phoenix 3
– date to be arranged.
Division One
Tigers 1 won the League Title for the 3rd year
running. Tigers 2 ended up bottom and face the playoff matches. Phoenix
finished the season strongly in 3rd place and Kites faltered towards
the end but had enough points on the board to finish 2nd.
Division Two
Phoenix 2 ended up beating Lions 1 in the decider to take
the Division 2 title. They face Tigers 2 to see who ends up in Division 1 next
season.
Division Three
Lions 2 won the division by 4 points from Tigers 4 who had
an excellent first season in Division 3. Lions 2 face Uni 2 in the playoffs to
see who ends up in Division 2 next season.

In
the Goal Scoring charts, Nick Armitage ended up taking the NL top scorer by
just 1 goal from Andy “Penalty King” Rutter. If Andy had only not missed those
2 penalties against Kingfisher in the final match of the season!!! Ste Haworth
also had a fine season in 3rd place scoring 30 goals.
Nick
Armitage took the Division 1 title by scoring 37 goals this season leaving Dave
Wigley (24 goals) and fellow Tiger Tony Fitzgerald (22 goals) way behind in 2nd
and 3rd place.
In
Division 2, honours were shared by Ste Haworth and Michael Soper both scoring
14 goals from 7 games. Doug Boag finished in 3rd place on 12 goals.
In
Division 3, young Lucy Northfield destroyed the rest with a massive 33 goals.
Next were fellow Lions Ian Peacock (18 goals) and James Brennand (14 goals).
In
the CKA Cup, Ste Haworth remains on 18 goals 3 ahead of Nick Armitage but Nick
has the chance of overtaking Ste if he can score more than 3 goals in the final
against City 1!!

That’s just about it for another season. The CKA Cup
matches will be played this week and who knows when the CKA Plate Final will be
played???
Thanks very much for reading these reports for another
season. If you have any comments about the format of them (too long?, too
short?, too much detail?, not enough detail?, anything else?) please feel free
to send me an email.
Cheers
Nick
