League Results 13th October

In order to get the weekly results service out this season, I intend to cut out a lot of the verbal stuff where possible and give you purely the information which is semi-auto generated – as well as any notices or relevant information for the week.

So here goes, there were two matches last week with the traditional curtain raiser – reigning champions Tigers 1 against newly promoted Tigers 2 and it ended with no surprises. Kites 2 got a shock last night with a strong City 2 performance. No other match details are in as yet on this match.

There are five matches this week with the Phoenix derby taking place on Monday night. City 1 and Phoenix 1 get their season off to a start with a clash on Thursday night. But will Phoenix 1 have recovered from their opening game of the season the night before against Tigers 2!! On Sunday night, Lions 3 and Phoenix 4 play their first ever matches in the CKA league against Kites 2 and Lions 2 respectively. More details next week.

NOTICES

There is a CKA committee meeting to which anyone is welcome to come along. It will be at the Pike & Eel on Chesterton Road and it starts at 7.45pm. The CKA are looking for a new secretary as Sam Whittaker, the current secretary, will be leaving Cambridge in the next month. Anyone interested please let someone in your club know who can pass on the relevant information to the committee.

The results will be available as usual on the normal website http://www.CambridgeTigers.co.uk as well as the new CKA website http://www.CambsKorfball.co.uk. On this new site, you will find useful things like the full set of league rules, the scorecards, a notice board, information on the clubs in the area, details of the CKA committee and a whole lot of other information.
