League Results 8th November
Hi
Here is an update on the CKA season so far. Apologies for
the lack of updates.
The reason – a 10 month old daughter taking up a lot of my
time J
National League
Cambridge started the new season with a fine 18-13 away win
against Kingfisher (who finished last season in 3rd place). And
yesterday in the BKA Cup, Cambridge lost 13-6 to Mitcham 2 and beat Castle
(newly promoted to the Premier Division) 15-6 to finish 2nd overall.
Cambridge take on Bec this Saturday in their second league match of the season.
1st Division
Things look tight in the 1st Division with
Phoenix so far leading the way on 8 points. The big match this week is on
Tuesday night when City 1 (who beat Phoenix 1) take on Tigers 1 (trying to
maintain their 100% start to the season). Tigers 2 take on Phoenix 2 in the
battle of the “Wooden Spoon” on Wednesday night. Lions 1 then play Tigers 2
(who have to play 2 matches in 3 days) on Friday night with Lions 1 looking to
continue with their fine start to the season.
2nd Division
In Division 2, Lions 2 defeat of Tigers 3 last week sees
them at the top of Division 3 with 3 wins out of 3. But City 2 also look strong
with 4 points from 2 games and with a match against Uni 2 tonight. A win by
more than 7 goals will see them move to the top. Phoenix 3 take on Tigers 4 for
the 2nd Division battle of the “Wooden Spoon”.
3rd Division
Newly formed Knights look to be running away with this
division with the youngsters on 6 points from 3 games and the slightly less
youngsters on 4 points from 3 games. City 3, Phoenix 4 and Lions 3 are all on 2
points and Lions 4 are yet to get off the mark.
Hot Shots
Tony Fitzgerald leads the way in the National League
(although not all the scorers are in from yesterday’s matches).
In Division 1, Nick Collier heads the list with 16 goals
from 5 games with Nick Armitage on 11 from 3 games (so a superior goal average J)
in 2nd place. Joanne Woods is lying in 3rd place with 9
goals from 4 games.
Reda leads the way in Division 2 with 9 goals with Captain
James “T” Brennand in 2nd place on 8 goals.
And in Division 3, Alice Kempski is on 9 goals, 1 ahead of
team mate Carly Hobday on 9 goals.
As ever, the CKA and Tigers websites will be updated with
all the fixtures, results and scorecards throughout the season. So if you can’t
wait for my (not so) weekly results round up, then why not check out www.cambskorfball.co.uk
